What is Hide My Email?

Hide My Email is a service that lets you keep your personal email address private, whether you're creating a new account with an app, signing up for a newsletter online, making a purchase with Apple Pay, or sending an email to someone you don't know well.

How Hide My Email Works

You need a paid iCloud+ account for as little as $0.99 per month and an @iCloud.com email address. Once enabled, you can either manually create unique alias email addresses or select "Hide My Email" when prompted to enter an email address while creating a new account or changing your email address with an online account using the Safari web browser.

These unique, random email addresses automatically forward to your @iCloud.com inbox. Each address is unique to you. You can read and respond directly to emails sent to these addresses, and your personal email address is kept private.

Advantages of Apple iCloud "Hide My Email"

  • Much increased privacy

  • You can disable the email alias address when it receives spam

  • No need to check multiple old email accounts that are full of junk
