Sequoia green button annoyance

The new version of macOS Sequoia 15 is problem fee. I have no problem recommending upgrading to this latest version of the Mac operating system as long as you have a fairly new Mac.

There is one new feature that I find quite annoying. And appears that I am not the only one who doesn’t like how the window of an app occupies screen space when you click the green button in the upper left corner.

After the upgrade to macOS Sequoia 15 you wil find that when you click the green button in the upper right corner. You wil find that the window occupies the entire screen or moves so a spot where you might not want it.

Lucky you can disable this new window Tiling feature

  1. Open system settings under the Apple icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

  2. Search for “tiling”

  3. Open Window Tiling

  4. Disable: Drag windows to screen edges to tile

  5. Disable: Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen

From now on you wil have the old behavior back where the window will go full screen after you click the green button and when you push the cursor in the upper left corner to reveal the red - yellow - green buttons and click again on the green one the window will return to the previous size. Its easier of you press the “escape” key on your keyboard ;-)
